Disneyland Entertainment Returns & DCA Expansions
If you felt like D23 was a massive mix of project updates and far-off promises, you’re not alone. The Horizon panel laid out a lot of future concepts, though many timeline specifics are still under wraps. Here is what you need to know for California:
Entertainment Coming Back in 2027: Disneyland is bringing back fan favorites, including the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks in February, an updated original World of Color at DCA, and the Magic Happens parade in summer 2027.
Avengers Campus Doubling Down: DCA’s Marvel area is expanding with two new attractions set for 2028: Stark Flight Lab and Avengers Infinity Defense.
New Details on Coco: The upcoming Coco boat ride will be set one year after the original movie, following Miguel through his memories of the Land of the Dead.
Tomorrowland’s Very Distant Reimagining: Disney teased a long-term reimagining of Tomorrowland with new attractions and open spaces.
Magic Kingdom, Epcot, & Animal Kingdom Updates
Over at Walt Disney World, several classic attractions are getting major overhauls alongside brand-new land updates:
Carousel of Progress Casting: Reopening in late spring 2027, the updated show will cover the 1960s through present day, featuring Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis voicing Dad and Mom.
Fixing the Everest Yeti: Disney officially confirmed plans to repair the legendary non-working Yeti on Expedition Everest, though no completion date was given. So long, Disco Yeti.
Tropical Americas & Animal Kingdom: The new land will feature Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent (with a Harrison Ford animatronic), an Encanto attraction focused on Antonio, and a wood-carved 22-animal carousel.
Monstropolis & Villains Land: Hollywood Studios' Monsters, Inc. land is slated for 2027 with a door-coaster E-ticket, while Magic Kingdom's official Villains Land will feature Maleficent and Evil Queen thrill rides.
Spaceship Earth Refresh: Epcot’s icon is slated for its first update in almost two decades, focusing on human connection while keeping its classic feel.
International Parks & Disney Cruise Line Moves
Around the world, Disney is leaning heavily into retro throwbacks and fleet expansion:
Disneyland Paris: Hyperspace Mountain is officially shifting back to its original concept, Space Mountain De la Terre à la Lune, featuring the classic soundtrack.
Tokyo & Hong Kong: Tokyo Disneyland is getting Space Mountain Earthrise and a Wreck-It Ralph attraction, while Hong Kong expands its Marvel presence with an Avengers Tower experience.
Disney Cruise Line Grows: The fleet is expanding to 13 ships by 2030, including a brand-new midsize ship class and the upcoming Disney Believe (featuring Tinker Bell, Buzz, Woody, and Moana).
